There are two ways to rename your iOS device while it is connected to iTunes 12.x: Just so you know, I just renamed my iPhone using iTunes 12.3 for Windows. The first way is to click on the name of your device in the iTunes 12 summary view. This will open an edit field in which you can type in any name you like. The name of the device is just to the right of the photo which is located in the upper left corner of the display. Please keep in mind that I am using the ZoomText screen magnifier on this particular computer. Thus, I have not performed this action using a screen reader such as Jaws for Windows. The second way is to simply rename the device, on the device itself, while it is attached to iTunes. Doing so will immediately change the name of the device in the iTunes Summary view.
