Hi,
This has always been a well-publicized feature of IOS 9. Apple has never
attempted to hide it and makes it very simple to toggle it on and off. I always
knew it was there since the day it first appeared, however, I ignored it even
though I spend a large amount of time on the fringe of my router's coverage
area. I finally checked my cellular usage one night when I noticed I had been
kicked onto my data plan even though I was in my apartment in the middle of the
night and saw that I was already up to 2.1 GB of data used about halfway
through the month. Usually I am at about 300 MB for the entire month. So I just
turned it off.
I am in a unique position where I actually have a cell tower about 300 yards
from where I am sitting so I can get bumped off my router to which I am pretty
far away quite easily.

Subject: Re: Beware, WiFi Assist

I was somewhat concerned about WI-FI assist. My wife and I share a bucket of
15 gigs between her iPhone 4, my iPhone 5s, and both our iPad Airs. Fifteen
gigs between us seems to me to be plenty. Do I need to be concerned if I leave
WI-FI assist turned on or am I probably ok?
