I don't think this is the case. If you go to YouTube and double-tap the add to a playlist button, one of the options that shows up is favorites.
Joe, I would close all the apps in your app switcher, and then power down your phone for 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. It might not do anything, but it might just help.
