There are so many ways of recharging today. I like the wall outlet kind. They come in so many configurations but here are the basics. It's a flat box with the male plugs to fit into one or both wall outlets and it can offer several wall outlets as well as several USB charging points. On a recent trip for a family wedding, my wife and I brought ours with us. All we needed was our iPad or iPhone sync charge cables. The wall outlet device is of the smart kind and detects the power requirements and then recharges your devices. I had my iPhone 5s and my iPad air. My wife had her iPad air and her iPhone 4 she still hangs on to. The wall outlet charger recharged them all with no problems and as quick as the Apple supplied power supplies.
Before anybody asks me, big box stores like Walmart etc cary themn etc. They are intended for people who travel often but they also work just as fine at home.
