I endorse this notion. Many of us have more than one account and use a lesser one for this kind of environment, and keep the work address with professional details for that environment alone. Google, yahoo and the like are good for this.
I'd like to add excluding these rhetorical personal questions which get asked and answered as a greeting. These are so pointless as to be irritating too. I know, we all know these are minor things, but soon feel major when you've waded through a whole days worth, or more, depending on the rest of one's life style.
