Yes, unless I'm missing something you have to do it that way; tap on an app
and select show notifications. The first list are the apps with them turned
on; double-tapping the turn notifications on choice switches it from off to
on, etc.

A question about turning off notifications on the iPhone. I just went into
settings to see if there was a toggle to turn off all notifications at once,
but no such luck. I'm assuming that I will need to open all apps there and
turn them off individually. Is that correct?
