Emoticons are created using common punctuation marks. There used to be whole 
lists of them on the web, and I imagine you could find themby googling.

Here are a few that I know:
smile: colon-right-parenthesis
frown: colon-left parenthesis
Grin: colon-capital D
tongue out: colon-dash-capital P

In order to type them in Braille, I've found the best method to be the 
nemeth-code equivalents. When you're in grade two, just type a dot-4 before 
each character. For example: colon, dot-4, then dots 1-5-6. Right parenthesis, 
dot-4, dots 2-3-4-5-6. I've found that typing punctuation marks in grade two is 
unpredictable when not at the end of a word.
