Hello all. This is just to remind people that it's not appropriate to hijack a thread. You can read about what hijacking threads is from the links at the end of my message. Basically if you hijack a thread, it means that you open a message which is talking about an iPhone GPS app, then you reply to the message, erase all the contents, leaving a blank message, and write to ask about a suggested cooking app. You change the subject to reflect that it's about cooking and you send it.

For those of us who use an email client which properly handles threads, such as the iPhone mail program, Thunderbird mail, and many others, what happens is the following.

You see a message thread with 15 messages. You are happily reading about GPS, and tapping next over and over, then suddenly while in the same thread, the discussion is about Cooking apps. We are not talking about morphed subjects where one subject slowly changes to another one and people change it to update the morphed thread, we are talking about a cold turkey change. Then someone else replies about 5 messages later and it's not about cooking apps, it's about gps apps, basically the original thread. So, in reality, the 15 messages which you thought was a lively discussion about gps apps, was maybe only 5 or 6 because of the hijacker who decided to do this, rather than simply starting a new message, giving it an appropriate subject, and sending it along.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but hijacking a thread is lazy. Please don't take this message as a sign that messages shouldn't be posted to the list. By all means, post away messages and discussions about iOS products, but please don't hijack one thread to put your own completely thread in the middle. The links below explain this further.
