With a lot of trial and error I was able to scan one card into the Wallet app. For other cards, I found someone I trusted to assist me get the cards properly lined up. It just took too much time and effort to try to scan them. For other apps, such as the Uber app, I have never been able to scan a card. I understand the Uber app has a box on the screen with which you frame the card, but there's no guidance for lining up the card.
