The email and Voiceover thing is no big deal. At leastin my experience. When it does happen to me, I simply do a home button triple click to turn VO off and the same to bring it back waiting a second or two in between. I've nefver had to restart or hard reset anything. That feels a bit drastic. That or just wait out the thirty seconds or so for VO to come back on its own, but I've always found doing the triple click off and on to be quick and reliable. It would of course be better for the bug not to be there, but the workaround until Apple fixes it is easy enough. I can't speak to the earphone thing.
