Hi, The battery is not rechargeable but the claim is that it will last 250 hours. Its not an expensive battery I just cooked a 14 pound turkey using my iGrill for Thanksgiving and it came out really well Of course, in the US, the meat charts recommend 165 degrees but, in Canada, our doctors tell us we should go to at least 180 degrees to kill all bacteria.
