Hi Tara,

This is a bit dependent on one's terminology. I am not sure if officially
there is a "swipe" gesture. If you go to the Voiceover practice area and do
a quick 1-finger flick left, right, up or down Voiceover will call this a
flick. If you use a 3-finger what I would call more of a "swipe" which means
a slower movement and one used to change home screens, for example,
Voiceover still calls this a 3-finger flick.

There is the "slide" gesture which is what you can use to unlock your phone
(you can, of course, double tap as well which probably more Voiceover users
do). The slide is just that, you put a finger on the screen on the left side
of the screen and slide it across to the right side. I would say a flick and
swipe are the same, it's a quicker gesture like when you flick a crum off
your pants leg. Everything other than that I think would be just "sliding"
or of course, in the case of moving apps or adjusting a volume slider, a
drag along the screen.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: flick and swipe

Dear all.

I used to assume that swipe is the same thing as flick. It doesn't seem to
be the correct assumption. So, how do you swipe on iPhone?
