Thanks much, Sieghard. In my IPhone5, there were some songs in my music app not lots of them though, but I am not sure whether they were transferred to IPhone6Plus when the IPhone5 backup was restored to it.

Have you ever synced music to your iPhone via iTunes? If so that music should show up in the music app. Also, any music you purchased from iTunes should show up and if you subscribe to apple Music or iTunes Match you can see music available to you in the cloud. Of course you will need an active internet connection (WiFi or 3G/LTE) to play said music unless it is actually downloaded to your phone or synced to your phone with itunes in which case no connection is required.
