Do you need to do a forced restart or would a more graceful shutdown do
the trick? In other words, could you just hold the power/lock button
down until the power off dialogue box pops up? If this works, it would
be a more graceful shutdown with no possibility that any data would be lost.

I'm actually having the opposite experience. Tweetings seems more responsive to
me since I updated.
Have you tried a warm reset after updating?
