There's no need to purchase a screen reader for Android. Both Spiel and Talk Back are free open source screen readers. Furthermore, Talk Back has been included with Android, and can be enabled without sighted assistance, since Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). For those who want Mobile Accessibility, several carriers in the US offer it for free with their phones and plans.
