You can buy a simkit at walmart or order one online. Just register online 
insert your sim and away you go if you wish to do it yourself. I think if you 
go in to a store they will help you get everything going.

I have had no problems just doing it myself. I chose the at&t sim as at the 
time I was activating my phones over to straighttalk I was traveling to part of 
the state where at&t had the only coverage.
