Alan, this is very odd. No, you didn't misunderstand my instructions. This has always worked for me. In fact, the developer talks about pausing and resuming recordings. I believe the help is either within the app, or on a website that's linked to from within the app. The reason it's a double tap to start and stop recording's Fully, is because we use VoiceOver. Sighted people would just tap once to activate the button. And the reason that it's a triple-tap to pause is also because of our use of VoiceOver. Sighted people tap twice to activate pausing, so we have to tap three times.
