Hi Mary, It does surprisingly well with the curviture of the spine. Nothing perfect, but better than I expected. Make sure that the stand legs are inserted into the base. And, make sure the way the stand is setup that the microsuction tape strip is on the top. that does help the phone not to slide. HTH, Richard
