All, my iPhone 6 makes a crackling sound when plugging in the earpods; I probably will have to get it fixed.
But when plugging in the pods, I hear nothing except when siri is on and the screen is locked, I hear the sound of the siri voice through the pods. If I make a call, I hear the call in the earpods and can navigate in other apps while the call is going on, but as soon as the call is over, voiceover stops speaking through the headphones.
