I just use one of my local network iOS apps. In my circumstance, I prefer KTLA as I found the NBC and ABC apps were sending me too many alerts which didn't really have anything to do with local breaking news. I.E. Watch tonight's broadcast for the weather report. Don’t' forget to catch so and so reporter and his undercover exposé, etc. Some people may like that sort of thing so it's really up to you how much you wish to be interrupted. Anyway... a local network app will probably fit your needs. Just try them out and see which one works best for you. Keep in mind though, having more than one app will most likely cause you to receive multiple alerts about the same exact event.

I've tried breaking news, but can't figure out how to change the settings. Maybe there's a way to do this in the news app already on the phone, but not sure about that. Any suggestions are welcome.
