When you're in the Kindle app, at the bottom, there are two buttons. One says cloud, and one says device. If you select the device option, it will only show books that are downloaded to the device. All archive books are in the cloud.
So, if you choose the device option, after you read a book, and then archive it, it will not show on the screen.
