OK, this is weird, I must have paid for Talking goggles, so I have the paid version, which is not working. I downloaded the free version and it works! That is a twist on theory!

But it really is easy to know what is active since if still camera mode is active, the button just above the home button says "Take Picture" and not "Record". If it says Record and you double tap it you hear the same metallic beep indicating it is recording that you hear when you are in the camera app and you start recording video. Also, for those who can't get it to work, make sure that once you point it at something you hold still for a few moments so the camera has time to send what it sees, if you continuously wave the phone around it will of course not work. Remember, if the button says "still camera" then you are in video mode and if you double tap that button you switch to still camera mode.
