Maybe others disagree, but in my opinion you won't even get close to the productivity you can achieve with windows 7, Jaws and Office when using an iPad with external keyboard and Pages. I'm not sure why you say " no worries about my data" in connection with the iPad. What worries do you have about your data on a laptop? How safe your data is on a laptop with Windows 7 is entirely up to you. If your Windows sign-in on the laptop is protected with a strong password your documents are just as secure as they would be on your iPad. I don't have to do fancy word processing a lot, but I work with spreadsheets a lot and it is just not possible to be as productive with a spreadsheet application on the iPad as you can be if you know what you are doing on a PC with Excel and Jaws.
