That's interesting. I have never tried viewing messages by thread. But when I back out of viewing a message I end up somewhere near the bottom of the list of messages in my inbox, not at the very bottom but somewhere close. I usually have fifty or sixty emails sitting in my inbox so this behavior is rather annoying.
