You can get around this by using the speak screen feature. Here's a demo

I just started looking at the I Books app which I have never tried. It
seems that you can read books either in audio format or by having
Voiceover read the text of a book, although each book may not offer both
options.
My question is what voice or voices can be used to listen to the text of
an i Book? Is it only the voice that comes with turning on Voiceover on
your Apple device?
If you can purchase other voices, where do you go to purchase these
voices, how are they downloaded and how to you select another voice
rather than the Voiceover voice which comes with the Apple devices?
