Hi, As some one who teaches, I bought an IPod because it was cheeper. Since the IPad 3 though, I've been thinking seriously about the IPad. The IPad has a camera that is good enough for reading text, the ITouch doesn't. The IPad has a feature for using cellular data. The ITouch does not. The IPad has some apps available for it that the ITouch does not, such as the reader's digest app. That one isn't particularly interesting to me, but some of my clients have been asking for it. The IPad runs faster which is nice because the ITouch isn't quite up to the job of handling the later IOS versions IMHO.
It would be nice if the IPod touch would get a serious face lift. Better processor, better camera, better display, better ram. Since it doesn't seem that will happen any time soon, the IPad is the more versatile product. The only two benefits to the ITouch are size and price.
