Hi Sieghard, 
Yes, I did actually try that. And it didn't work. But what did work, for 
reasons unknown to me, was that I had to plug in my iPad to recharge it. When 
it was plugged in, the book downloaded. Something perhaps to do with an iCloud 
thing? I really don't know. I even deleted some things off of my iPad to make 
more space, although I had more space free then the book needed. Anyway, it has 
downloaded.
