Hi Sieghard, I was able to take a pic of my window AC this morning and got
an answer back to my question of what temp was it set at. It took about 45
seconds and got back 2 answers with 75 as the answer. All is fine I guess
but still don't know why I didn't get back any answer the other day. Thanks

Hi Jay,

 

I am not aware of any settings that affect whether it works in general. Just
make sure you check "Web Workers, on the last screen just before you send
the image/question. maybe you have it unchecked and hence no web worker gets
your image. You can also enable VizWiz in Notifications and that way if an
answer takes longer to come in you will get a Notification. One last thing
you can do is also email yourself (last screen as well) and that way you can
see if the image/questions actually go out.

Hi Sieghard. Thanks for getting back to me. I only tried to send my image
one time each time I sent it. I tried 3 times that day with the same results
each time. I will try again today and see what happens. Just in case there
is a problem, are there any settings that I should check over to maybe tweek
this app?

Hello Jay,

 

I hadn't used VizWiz in quite some time so I just took a picture of the LCD
screen of my in-floor heat thermostat. First time around I got "No clear
image" after about a minute and then I tried again and this time after about
30 or 40 seconds I received the answer "27 C" which I happened to know is
correct. Maybe something didn't work and it timed out, did you try sending
your picture/question just once or twice?

answer to what temp my AC was set at and never got an answer back. Just
