Hello There,
I also turn off the phone, but not the iPad. What you could
always do, though, is bring up the power off, and instead of
powering down, hold in the home button, till you're back at the
home screen.

I turn off the phone when not in use. I refuse to have to be
wired 24/7. My
time is too valuable to always have to surrender it to others.
If someone
calls and I am doing something else, or just do not want to talk,
the call
goes to voicemail and I return it later, or perhaps not. Turning
off the
phone is like turning off the computer. Not only does it save
battery, but
it also clears the RAM and you will find that when you restart
the phone, it
performs much better.
I find it interesting that when folks are having problems with
their phone,
often the advice given is to turn off and restart the phone.

I completely agree, my iPhone is my primary communication device
whether
it's getting or placing phone calls, text messages, checking
emails and
other messages or notifications and to me turning it off to save
a bit of
battery is sort of like keeping your house really cold in the
winter to save
a bit of heating cost. If my phone's battery is low I recharge
it and while
I wish Apple figured out how to make the battery last a week with
heavy use
I still accept that it doesn't.turning off

I suppose the act of turning the phone on and off does cause the
phone to go
through some of it's most battery intensive activities, but of
course,
having the phone off also saves a lot of battery juice. Of
course, people
can use the phone anyway they want, but I think the iPhone is
meant to be
left on and their are other things you can do to save power when
you're not
actually using it.

the
battery. Can anyone confirm this for me?
