Hi Kim, I had the smaller unit, but gave it to our daughter so that I could purchase the Big Jambox. I'm very happy with it. The battery life is improved over its predecessor, about 15 hours now. I also like the placement of the controls, easier to get at than the smaller unit's controls. I would say that if you want to go to a beach or somewhere where other noises could interfere or you are in an open area, then this unit may not be your best bet. However, if you'll be using it primarily at home, then it's a great unit.
