Did you just turn off the phone? If not, I would try the holding wake/sleep button and home button together for about 8 seconds or until it turns off. You can check by moving the mute button down and back up to unmute. If you feel a vibration the phone is still on. Once you let go, the phone will reboot on its own. Seems to me I had this happen, but I do not remember what I did to stop it. Hope this clears for you soon.
