If there’s a lag I don’t notice it. It seems just like the Iphone speaker to me. The ear-buds I would describe as squishy (the part which inserts into your ear canal), with a small round hard nub which is for you to grip onto, in order to guide it into your ear. If you order from Amazon they are Prime, and of course returnable.
