There is a loop that you can use that will hold it in your ear but then it will not fit properly into the charging case. I don't know how it just stays in my ear and honestly it took some getting accustomed to the fear of it not just falling out while in the store. It is like an ear bud with a little black cylinder attached to it. How it just hangs there I don't know but I have only ever lost it out of my ear once. It fell into my shopping cart and I heard it land in the cart.
