Apple Pay is slow to make its way into Canada. At this point you can only use Apple Pay if you have an American Express credit card, I believe that started last November. There is talk of more banks to start supporting it. I am also not sure as to how many merchants support it at this point even if you have an American Express card. My understanding is that because here in Canada many places already have tap terminals where you just have to tap your regular chipped credit card, it will be much easier and maybe anybody who has a terminal that supports tap will also support Apple Pay, not sure about his. For the time being I’d plan to just pay whichever way you normally do with either your debit card or credit card, I am sure Denny’s has tap terminals so you can probably just tap your credit card anyways.
