Strictly speaking it still uses Internet because of course you are uploading to Dropbox, but I assume you have some sort of home internet like cable or ADSL which is what your WiFi network is connected to. Here mostly these type of connections have either no limit or the limit is so high that most users won’t reach it like maybe 100 or 200 Gb. The iPhone is really good about not using cellular data if it is connected to a WiFi. Then, zip them into a file with the file name being the title of the book. Then, put that zip file on DropBox, and use Voice Dream Reader to import the file. What you will end up with, is a book that has 10 chapters and it will always start where you leave off and you can adjust the playback speed quite easily. Otherwise, I'd recommend using some other application to convert them into properly tagged m4b files which iTunes will see as an audio book. People have recommended applications for that, but I personally don't use that method.
