If you are searching for messages on the at&t/yahoo site, how do you get the iphone or ipad to allow you to edit the box in the edit field. I change the sellection to "typing mode" and have tried various other options, and I can't get anything typed in the edit search box. It works most of the time on other sites, but not on the at&t/yahoo site. I've used safari and attomic web browser. Maybe another web browser?
