Yes, I do have a case on my phone. I don’t think I’m changing things myself,
but I guess I’ll just have to be more cognizant of how and where I swipe.
Thanks.

Hi Lucy,

I don’t want to sound patronizing, but I can’t see it changing from characters
to workds without you touching the screen. The rotor does have to be turned
although I can see how a two-finger gesture which is maybe not precise can be
interpreted as a rotor turn. One other thing you might want to check is to see
if your screen is clean. Lastly, one way iOS may think you do a rotor turn is
if you hold the phone in a way where you touch the screen somewhere along the
edge and then you swipe with one finger, the point where you touch on the edge
is considered one contact point and the swipe would be considered the turn. Do
you have a case on your phone? I found over the years that this accidental
touching is more likely to happen if I don’t have my phone in a case.

Sieghard

Yes that is what I meant. For example, if I have my rotor set to characters, it
will automatically change to words without my doing anything. It just seems
that I’m having to switch it to what I want all the time. I do love it though,
don’t get me wrong.
Thanks.

Hi Shawn,

I think Lucy is saying she accidently turns the rotor and changes it not that
she has trouble reaaranging the order of rotor items in Voiceover Settings.
There never was an option to lock the rotor so that it can’t be turned and I
doubt Apple would give that option since the rotor is meant to allow for quick
changes when you want to navigate by different units or quickly turn the rotor
to allow for handwriting input etc.

Lucy, if that is not what you meant maybe you can explain further.

Sieghard

Hi Lucy. I'm afraid not. This has been a long lasting bug ever since iOS 9.
