I don't think the makers of Safari want you to know that you can download
files with it, but as you have discovered, you can. As to where they go, you
have to tell it. In the upper left corner of the screen, around the address
bar somewhere, thereis an open with button. Unless your choice is there
already, which it sometimes is, you have to tap open with, and select from the
choices given, hoping the one you want is there. I sometimes use Safari to
download books from Bookshare, even though I can do it from within Voice Dream
Reader, or to download pdf's. Voice Dream Reader is one of the choices.
Before they took away the download button for the mobile users, I was able to
download NLS books from within Talking Book Topics, using Safari, and open
them in Bard Mobile.

Subject: Where do Downloads go in Safari?

OK, this is really bizarre, but I have tried to download in Safari and I have
no idea where the downloads go. I feel like I am missing something totally
obvious here. Sometimes when I activate the download link, I get the option to
play the file. But sometimes I get info that tells me the file is downloading.
And then the file drops off the earth so to speak. Please send some light my
way on this question. I know it must have a very obvious answer.

  Best,

Terrie Terlau, AKA confused in Kentucky (smile)
