Hi, I think the link shows up after you send the tweet, inside the tweet itself.I use Twitterific on the IPhone. I tweeted a link to a New Yorker article this morning. I used "Share" at the bottom of the article, and selected Twitter, I wrote a short message about the article (which just won the Pulitzer Prize - and then hit "Post" or "send" or whatever it says. Then, listed among my Tweets in Twitterific, I saw my tweet, I clicked on it by tapping, and the link was at the top of the next page, where I could tap on that and open the article.
