Agreed, it is good like that. But I got some, not just one, of the pipe tuners. Tuned instrument to one or other of them. Tried it then against talking Tuner, and found it a fairly consistent 20% wrong! I lost faith and patience with it.
For completeness, I just got the phone and 3 tuners and tested the tuners themselves in Talking Tuner. The results were occasionally positive about the note being right, but most wavered 20% sharp or flat of the actual note. sometimes it quoted a note the tuner wasn't even set to. so, a simple app that just gives a reference note has significant benefits sometimes.
