There are apps listed on Applevis that are completely accessible that will merge all your contacts so that you don't have multiple contacts for the same person.

I had the same problem...

I had telephone numbers in one contact, and e-mails in another, and some had addresses in another contact.

Boil it all down, the searches took forever.

In any case, check the App section of Applevis, and under the utilities section, I think, there are apps that will do this.

Good luck.

Subject: Re: Quick way to delete contacts

I have done many stupid things in my 77 years, but, surely, the most stupid would have to be when I acquired an iPhone exactly 1 year ago, a year that has been full of frustration and tribulation! yeah--yeah--yeah! I can hear a huge outcry from many who think otherwise, but that is my opinion
and I haven't found any reason to change it!
I am having a hell of a job trying to get my contact list straightened out of the mess that it has got into. I wish that my monstrosity would delete as easily as Terri has found it to be, though one contact at a time. I open a contact that I wish to edit and press delete until I am in danger of getting repetitive strain injury, but does it delete? no fear! there it stays, grinning at me!

Subject: Quick way to delete contacts

I know how to delete a contact one at a time: open contact double tap edit and double tap delete. I have not yet figured out a way to make this process quicker. Is there a way to select contacts from the contact list and then delete a group? I, being foolish, told the iTunes software to sync my contacts from Outlook with the phone. Unfortunately my Outlook contacts are a jungle of insanity, three and four different and the same email addresses for one person, etc. Going through them one by one and deleting each one per the above process is quite time-consuming. I hope someone can lead me
toward A way to select multiple contacts for deletion.
Thanks for any ideas you can share. This list is awesome.
Best,
Terrie Terlau.
