I am not sure what you mean by "portable", all Bluetooth earpieces are portable and meant to be used while you are out and about. The Edge I believe is smaller than the Legend, it is little bigger than your small finger in terms of length and while maybe there are smaller ones, it is definitely very small. It sits in the outer ear, for me it fits very securely, and the part I said is about as long as your finger sits along your cheek and contains the microphones.
