Hi Jed, The Airport Extreme is probably a very good router, but I don't think it will outperform everything else and at $250 Canadian (not sure, maybe $200 in the US) it's also not exactly cheap and there are several other options from Asus, Linksys abnd Netgear which I would definitely consider, some about the same and some more expensive. Here is a list of a few which consistently receive top reviews, you'll just have to do your own reading and decide what you need. A lot depends on how large your house is and how many are using the router at the same time. If you are by yourself in an apartment than many of these will be overkill especially ones like the latest Netgear X8 (R8500) which has two 5 Ghz bands delivering up to 2,166 Mb (no client goes that fast):
