Hello mark, I wish to disable voice mail because I just prefer to look at my missed calls log. Sometimes I don't wish to call certain people back, and if they can't leave a message I don't feel so obligated. I called Verizon and as far as they can tell me, it can't be done with the iPhone. Verizon even contacted apple for me. Both Verizon and Apple tried things on their end, but, no go. Thanks for your interest.
