If you're looking for accuracy in your scanned books, you should probably stick with a flat bed scanner and K1000 or OpenBook. I've tried to scan a textbook page with KNFB reader, and it just wasn't practical to use this method to scan the book. I did not try any scanning aids, but I doubt it will make much of a difference when it comes to a textbook as the level of accuracy and fidelity should be much higher for a textbook than a novel. Maybe you'll get good results in near perfect conditions, but you're asking a bit much for this type of app if you think you can use it to scan and read a textbook.
