Note that if you hide the keyboard, and then use your iOS device without the Braille display, the virtual keyboard may still be hidden. At least this is how it works when using a Bluetooth wireless keyboard. The virtual keyboard does not appear again until you use that same command mentioned to show the keyboard. This can be concerning for someone who doesn't know what's going on, which is why I mention it here as a friendly reminder.
