I have two different bluetooth headsets from two different manufacturers,
and the battery status shows up on the status bar for which ever headset I
am using at a particular time.

I don't know of such an app. But there is a Bluetooth headset made by
LG that will tell you the battery status. It's limited to low, medium
or high, but it may be what you're looking for. The model I have is
the LG hbs730, but I believe the newer model is the 950.
