So, after we move, I'm thinking of getting either one of those thermostats from talkingthermostats.com or a Nest thermostat. I tried googling this one, but I don't seem to be getting a proper answer. I don't really understand how thermostats work. Not mechanically, but practically. What does setting the temperature of the thermostat to 70 degrees actually mean? And is the answer to that question different when you're talking about air conditioning versus heating?
