Hi, The easiest way I found is go through your friends list and select the person you wish to remove and view their profile. Swipe through and you should hear a "Friend" button that is selected, next to a "Follow" button that is also selected. If you double tap on the selected "Friend" button, a box should pop up asking if you wish to unfriend this person. Confirm and there you go, one less friend.
I can understand how confusing the FB app can be, they seem to keep changing processes around. For the longest time,I wasn't able to figure out how to view friends of friends of mine and just a couple of days ago, I manage to figure it out. Good luck and hope this helped!
