The best way to avoid the speaker pairing with your device is to turn off
bluetooth on your device. I have both the Jambox Mini and the Big Jambox and
this is the only way to connect the speaker through a wire. You can always
remove the Jambox as a pairable device by going into your bluetooth settings,
finding the speaker, swiping right once to the info button of the speaker and
then selecting "forget this device".

Hope this helps!

I am pretty sure that most speakers don't work as Bluetooth speakers if the
cable is plugged in, at least that seems to be my experience with the Bluetooth
speakers I have had before. If the Jambox can be used with a Bluetooth
connection while it is plugged in, then maybe there is a button combination,
you would have to check the manual which probably can be found online or as an
alternative you can always turn off Bluetooth on your phone via the control
centre or using SIRI.

Sieghard

Actually, I was wanting to use it with the Mac. I do use it with bluetooth when
using the phone. However, when I have used it with the Mac, I found that the
signal is not always consistent, and the speech goes back and forth between the
internal speaker of my Macbook air and the mini jambox. So, I thought I would
try to connect using the cable. And the last time I tried it, when I turned on
the speaker, it announced that it was in paring mode, and paired with the
phone. So, I thought perhaps I could do something to switch back and forth on
the speaker itself, so I would not have to tell the phone to forget the device.
I know the Bose speakers do have dedicated buttons to use as bluetooth or
traditional wired connection. So I was just checking to see if I could perform
a similar function with the Jambox.

Thank you.
